Payment Security

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Politics & Prose Indiebound Gift Cards for online payments. We guarantee that every transaction you make with us is absolutely safe. We use the latest technology to keep your ordering information -- including your name, address, and credit card number -- encrypted; and we use a secure server for maximum security. Once we receive your credit card information, this is NOT accessible from the Internet.

Delivery Instructions

You may choose to pick up your purchases at the store to avoid shipping charges; or have them shipped to your home or business. Shipped orders typically arrive within 1-3 business days. Our online ordering department will email you to confirm receipt of your order and inform you when your purchase is completed and your shipment is on its way.

If you have any special handling needs, let us know in the comments field. We are happy to enclose a message and gift wrap for free! We always pack books very carefully in sturdy boxes.

For our local customers, shipping saves you the step of coming into the store or hauling gifts to the post office. For our national and international fans, we provide a distinctive selection and the assurance of signed books from our top-of-the-line author events. 

How we ship

We use 2 carriers domestically; FedEx (Home and Ground) and UPS. We use FedEx Home (or FedEx Ground to work addresses) for packages requiring handling by our store (gift wrapping, signed books, etc.) Books sent directly from the warehouses are sent UPS. Priority Mail is used only for PO Boxes, APOs, or specific customer requests.

We gladly ship worldwide. International shipments are shipped Priority Mail International, when available. We will email the generated Customs Number to the customer upon request.

Rates

For shipments directly to your home through the website, you can use the shipping calculator online for Standard UPS Ground, 2-Day, or Overnight Delivery.

For shipments requiring special handling in the store, including obtaining signed copies, gift wrapping, etc., Politics & Prose charges a flat rate of $8 per shipment. Each additional item is $1. If a shipment requires extra postage we will notify you for approval. If you are interested in media mail rates, or require expedited shipping such as overnight delivery, please indicate this in the comments box. Note that, depending on the size and weight of the order, surcharges for expedited service could become substantial. Returns

Our return policy is simple, similar to returns at our store. Within 30 days of receipt of your order, you may return any book in its original condition or any unopened music CD. Please note that we can process returns and refunds only for items purchased from us. If you have the original receipt, you will receive a refund on your credit card.
