Fantasy Writing Workshop for Teens
Do you love reading fantasy novels and want to learn how to write one yourself?
In this week-long fantasy writing workshop, you will learn how to scaffold and build believable worlds for fantasy stories. Participants will learn about the different forms of fantasy, including high fantasy, dystopian, steampunk, magical realism and more. You’ll consider the best approach to creating a fantasy story based on your ideas and interests, and discuss how other authors write in this genre successfully. Writing exercises to develop craft and creativity will also be included in each lesson.
All students will have the option of sharing their writing with the class for peer and instructor feedback. Instructions for submitting manuscripts for critique will be sent prior to the start of the first class.
