Plouffe has chosen a career in politics. He has managed many campaigns, including Tom Harkins’s run for the Senate. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Democratic leader Dick Gephardt. In 2003 he joined a political firm with David Axelrod and they began their association with Senate candidate Barack Obama. Newsweek called Plouffe “the campaign’s mastermind.” His book will reveal the management strategies that he used in Obama’s Presidential campaign.
